PLEASE NOTE:  

 

for group classes, you will need to attend at least two foundation sessions or at least one  'two' hour foundation workshop before you can join in any class. THESE CAN EITHER BE IN A PRIVATE OR SEMI-PRIVATE SESSION AT A TIME TO SUIT YOU OR any OF THE scheduled TRIO-PRIVATE GROUP FOUNDATION SESSIONS.

 

THE FOUNDATION SESSIONS WILL TEACH YOU THE 5 BASIC PRINCIPLES OF PILATES.....

THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO EXECUTE THE EXERCISES SAFELY AND EFFECTIVELY AND TEACH YOU THE CORRECT SET UP AND USE OF THE APPARATUS. The FOUNDATION SESSIONS will also give you an understanding of the terminology used in the classes.

THE 2 HOUR WORKSHOP WILL BE £40 PER PERSON

THE PILATES FOUNDATION PART ONE WILL BE £20 PER PERSON

THE PILATES FOUNDATION PART TWO WILL BE £20 PER PERSON

 

 

THE PART ONE AND PART TWO SESSIONS CAN BE MIXED IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO DO THE SAME DAY AND TIME SLOT OVER TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS. THIS IS SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY.   

 

  

                         

 

THE TRIO-PRIVATE GROUP SESSIONS ARE NOT REFORMER ONLY!!!

   

THEY ARE TAUGHT IN A STATION STYLE FORMAT USING A VARIETY OF APPARATUS. AS THE STUDIO ONLY HOLDS TWO REFORMERS, A CADILLAC AND A STABILITY CHAIR, THE CLASS PARTICIPANTS WILL PERFORM a series of EXERCISES ON ONE PIECE OF APPARATUS AND THEN MOVE ONTO ANOTHER to perform another series of exercises and so on. THIS WILL ALLOW PARTICIPANTS TO EXPERIENCE a greater variety of APPARATUS THAT JOSEPH PILATES created THEREFORE GIVING a lot more exercise choice other than the Reformer alone. the other pieces of apparatus also allow you to perfect a reformer exercise on it before doing it on the reformer or can add more of a challenge than can be felt on the reformer. THE DIFFERENT PIECES OF APPARATUS COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER. 

All sessions are taught by the founder and proprietor nicole small, polestar trained and stott trained and certified.

these methods allow for more than 500 systematic Mat and equipment exercises building on the essence and principles of the late joseph h. pilates' work by incorporating modern knowledge about the body. 

WITH THE CURRENT TREND AND buzz word being 'reformer pilates' and the GROWING POPULARITY OF 'REFORMER PILATES STUDIOS', PLEASE BE aware THAT MANY (BUT NOT ALL) OF THESE STUDIOS ARE teaching classes using THE REFORMER AS A FITNESS TOOL RATHER THAN TEACHING THE ORIGINAL WORKS OF JOSEPH PILATES.

WHILST THESE SESSIONS MAY BE FUN and I believe DO have a place in the fitness industry, BE MINDFUL THAT THESE CLASSES TEND NOT TO FOCUS ON CORRECT TECHNIQUE, SAFETY, GOOD FORM OR EXECUTION OF THE APPROPRIATE MUSCLES for a given exercise. 

  FOR the classes to be classified as 'pilates', Exercises should EITHER FOLLOW THE ORIGINAL WORKS OF JOSEPH PILATES IN THE FORM OF THE CLASSICAL METHOD OR THE ORIGINAL WORKS WITH SLIGHT MODIFICATIONS TO THE EXERCISES INCORPORATIONG MODERN KNOWLEDGE WE NOW KNOW ABOUT THE BODY.                                                                    PILATES SHOULD not be fast paced with high reps and increased spring load but more of a controlled pace with minimal reps targeting the correct muscles to perform that particular exercise.

The PILATES principles may vary slightly in description dependant on the training school THE TEACHER HAS CERTIFIED WITH however they are all trying to instill the appropriate foundation. 

 

nicole is available for private on-line zoom sessions whether you are looking to do on your own or with a friend/partner or friends. she can offer tuition in Pilates, weights, body conditioning, step, spinning, aerial yoga, aerial pilates, aerial ante-natal yoga, hiit, liit, pre/post-natal, trigger point pilates, myofascial release....any genre mentioned in her biography.

SHE IS ALSO ABLE TO DO SOME HOME VISITS WITHIN A REASONABLE DISTANCE. THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL FEE FOR THIS TO COVER TIME,DISTANCE AND FUEL.

About Us

Exclusive Pilates first opened in 2013 in the grounds of a private residence. In 2016, it relocated to a bigger premises with the ability to offer Aerial and Barre. At Exclusive Pilates, we only offer tuition of the highest standard led by very experienced individuals and highly qualified within their fields. We offer a variety of Pilates, Aerial, Yoga and Barre classes in very small class numbers. These class numbers are strictly limited to ensure a bespoke, personal service that sees every participant receive the teaching and individual attention they need. We also offer Private (one-to-one) and Semi-Private (two-to-one) sessions with the Director or a specialist teacher. We specialise in Pilates and Yoga applications for Ante and Postnatal (including C. Section Recovery, Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions and Diastasis Recti) , Breast Cancer rehabilitation, Foot Pathologies, Sports Enhancement and Athletic Conditioning, Osteoporosis, Menopause, Scoliosis, Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Injuries and Special Populations. We also offer Myo-fascial Release and Trigger Point Pilates.
